This piece inspired by the steampunk genre and submitted for the Corel Painter Adapt 2007 Convention in Montreal for which some my artwork was chosen to be showcased.

The original concept had a sub platform underneath the train filled with the hustle and bustle of train commuters but was later cut in favour of the foreground engineer on the left as it worked better with the overall composition.

I love that suggestion of the vast industrialized landscape in the distance. I grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, and this picture is like some fantasized version of what old Pittsburgh used to look like.
